The end of a crazy week

Such a crazy week I didn't get to post and I certainly didn't keep up my ICLW duties :-(

More later on the fertility front, but here's where we are:

Today is CD7. Went for bloodwork and ultrasound on Monday morning and started 100mg Clomid Monday night. We're doing a Clomid/FSH IUI cycle (although if by some stroke of luck I produce 4 or more good follicles, we may retrieve for IVF.)

Went in for monitoring this morning. Still waiting on bloodwork, but ultrasound showed 2 follicles on one side and 3 on the other. One follicle measured 10mm. Dr.Dry (in a not very chatty mode) said things were developing slowly which is good. And that's about all we got out of him today.

Otherwise, sheer craziness on the work and real estate front. I've been doing some consulting work amounting to only about 1.5 days/week, but this past week a major conference was in town that both clients wanted me at. So, spent much of my days (including 11 hours on Tuesday) at the meeting hotel.

In the midst of that we signed loan papers to refinance our current house. Oh yeah, and decided yesterday to make an offer on a new house we saw last Sunday afternoon. But then, because we weren't already crazy enough, we got halfway through writing the contract for the offer with our real estate agent last night and I got an email of a new listing - and not just any listing. This is a house on a street in a neighborhood we've been obsessing over for a year! We've been waiting since March 2009 for another house to come on the market in this particularly neighborhood. We had to go see it. And thank goodness for an awesome real estate agent. It was 7:30 p.m. and he called the owners, asked if we could see it in 30 minutes and they said they'd clear out for us to see it and we did.

I just knew I couldn't not see it. It is the exact model we'd been looking for in our favorite neighborhood.

Alas, sometimes your 'perfectness' changes. We decided to continue with making an offer on the house we saw last Sunday. If you would have asked me even a couple of weeks ago if I'd have made this decision, I'm quite sure I would have said no. But the house we saw Sunday is just nicer. It's a little bit further from Mr.Right's office, but he's already done the commute and it's 25 min which isn't bad.

So, back to the real estate agent's office this afternoon to finish writing the contract. Apparently one other couple is going to see the house for a second time today so now we need to cross our fingers that we get this one!!

  1. Wow - sounds like you have all kinds of things going on! Very exciting house news. I hope this all works out like you want!

And that's awesome about the follies. My doctor wanted me to develop slowly this cycle too, so the eggs would get nice and mature. Hopefully this works for you - and me! :)
