I actually managed to get Dr. Dry on the phone without playing phone-tag yesterday. He said he was sorry to hear that I had gotten a BFN out of this last IVF round. Given that we had two Grade 1 embryos to transfer on day 3 he thought we'd 'gotten our money' out of the cycle. I know he meant well, but sometimes the things he says.....sigh.
Anyhow, I told him about the March 22 appointment with the Dr. he had referred us to for a possible laparoscopy. He said again that the data don't support the idea that removing the cyst on my right ovary will mean that I respond better to stims. Only that the lap would mean that we'd have a better chance getting pregnant on our own or with IUI. On the other hand, his own inclination was that when you look at some of the older data there is some support for the idea that removing such a persistent cyst can improve response. So.......
We have to take a month off after this last IVF round anyhow. (We're going to TTC on our own, though.) We'll go to the appt. March 22 and see whether Dr.R recommends the lap and we'll see when it can be scheduled. I guess we *might* decide to do another IVF round before the surgery, depending on how long it takes to schedule the surgery.
Anybody else have laparoscopy done to remove a cyst and improve response? (I know I'm probably asking that question to an empty room given that I don't think anybody's reading/following this blog yet......)
In non-IF news, I actually made it to a spin class yesterday! I've been putting the spin class schedule on my calendar since last October and *finally* made it to one. It was hard!! I've done a few spin classes at random gyms before and I just can't get the hang of the right resistance. So, I'm sore today, but managed to get out for a 6 mile (hilly!) run anyway. Of course, I probably won't be able to walk at all tomorrow.....

Thanks for your comment on my blog - I really appreciate it. I'm sorry for all you are dealing with and I have no experience with cysts - wish I had some advice to offer. But I did love hearing how you went to spin class - I love spin class and can't wait to go back once I get my BFN next week - how's that for being positive! And, I'm also jealous of your 6-mile hilly run -you sound like me! I have a 6-mile hilly run that I've really missed during this 2ww. I'm hoping the lap is the thing you need to find success!
