Big sigh of relief! My laparoscopy is scheduled for next Monday (April 5). There was a little moment of panic there this morning after no one had called me back after I left vmail yesterday morning and I ended up speaking this morning to the head nurse. She was trying to hold things together until the surgery coordinator got in this morning and started talking about not getting me in for surgery until April 16! With my 20 day (and previous 17 day) long cycles, I could be into the next cycle (or at least near it) by then.
But it all worked out: another person called me within an hour or two (apparently unaware of the head nurse's discussion with me) and said they had me scheduled for next Monday - woo hoo! I have to go at 7:30 a.m. this Thursday for a quick exam and some bloodwork.
I wrote an email to Mr.Right, "great news - surgery scheduled!" I've said it before, but what an upside-down world we live in when having surgery is exciting and good news.
We even laughed about the weirdness of our world on the phone at noon when he called me to report, "good news - our taxes are done and we owe $24,000!" Another one of those upside down moments you just have to laugh at (I know, $24k is crazy but we have crazy 2009 taxes - he became partner in his practice and they made a good size profit last year so we have to pay taxes on that; I sold my house for a very nice profit which exceeded the capital gains exemption amount so had to pay taxes on that too. This year: quarterly estimated tax payments for sure!)
Mostly, we've been waiting for these taxes to get done, though, so we know how much we have left to pay for how many rounds of IVF! (and donor eggs if it comes to that)
Ok, it's a little sad maybe, but I'm choosing just to laugh at it all today.

Congrats on scheduling the lap! I know how you feel as I was happy to finally get my bloodwork done. That is a crazy amount to owe in taxes but you sound like you planned for it so that's good. Will be thinking of you on Monday!
ReplyDeleteYou and your amazing attitude... Nice work on laughing at it all today! That will get you through this process, if nothing else!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your lap - so happy for you it's next week!
I think your attitude is great. And it's far better than crying because of how much it sucks, right? Good luck with the lap!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for choosing to laugh today! Good luck with the lap. I had one in January and it went really well with a quick recovery. Heres hoping for the same for you!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop by and say good luck with your surgery tomorrow. Here's hoping there's no Endo in there!
