Ok, they're just arm "buds" and leg "buds" but I saw them!! And a heart beating at 164 bpm! I can't believe that this is actually starting to feel like it's going to happen. I texted Mr.Right as I walked out of the building and he called right away to share in the joy!
So, that was it for the clinic. As Dr.Dry says, "they've kicked us out" and on to the OB. With any luck (still crossing fingers) we won't be back there (or at least until we try for #2 which I can't even think about right now). Dr.Dry was his typical non-emotional self - we parted with a handshake and I managed to get in "we really appreciate your help" before he walked back down the hall to his office. Our nurse gave me a hug and everyone wished me well on my way out (I was trying to keep it low-key though: I think the last thing I would have wanted to see back in some of my darkest days sitting in the waiting room and the ultrasound waiting area in the office would have been to see a happily pregnant woman bouncing down the hallway.)
So, there you have it! Still no significant pregnancy symptoms so this just may be the way it's going to be.
Next appointment: with the nurse practitioner at my new OB practice next Wednesday, the 30th, in the afternoon.
We have a lot going on between now and then: closing on new house tomorrow afternoon; a good friend in town staying with us tonight, and the next 2 nights; movers on Friday; complete collapse over the weekend, most likely, as we try to unpack enough boxes to live in the new house; delivery of new washer/dryer next Monday, etc. etc. etc. And then we'll be off on Friday night for the 4th of July weekend to my parents' lake cottage two states away for the long weekend (where, I guess, we'll finally tell them.)
And, I'm writing a proposal as we speak to take on a bit of consulting for some folks in Qatar through July. When it rains it pours!! But in a very good way right now.........
Ok, now I've got to go wipe this silly grin off my face or it might become permanent!
