New background!

Ok, I'm slow. It took me a while to run across shabbyblogs.com and figure out how easy it was to get a nicer background for my blog. Anyhow, I hope you like it. I do! It's called 'at the cottage' which reminds me of being at my parents' cottage in the Finger Lakes.

In fertility news, not much going on here. Successfully got a girls' lunch moved from a wine bar today in favor of a diner. Figured I didn't really want to be sitting amidst bottles of wine when I couldn't have any. It was fine. Both friends know quite a lot of the details of what we've been doing fertility-wise. Since we usually get together for lunch on Fridays and for some bizarre reason many of my betas have been on Fridays, though, it's always interesting to be sitting there eating lunch and waiting for the call. Anyhow, beta is next Friday and girls' lunch was this week so we missed this time.

It's been so exciting to hear about several BFP's in the last few days (like Alex's!). It makes me hopeful for my own BFP next week.

If not, my silver lining is that I'll be able to drink like a fish on vacation at the beach near Charleston the week of Memorial Day (and the same week as both of our birthdays). (The idea of picking out a silver lining for a negative result has sometimes worked for me. On a plane in China from Xi'an to Beijing once I started fretting about making my connection in Beijing since I had to retrieve and recheck bags and the next flight to the States was 24 hours later if I missed it. I picked out my silver lining: if I missed the connection, I'd go stay at the Peninsula near Tiananmen Square (on the company, of course) and go buy myself some pearls. As it turned out, I made the connection with plenty of time to spare (thank you Air China!) and made it home to my then-fiance which is really what I wanted to have happen. But it helped tremendously to have another desirable outcome waiting if the opposite had happened. Ok, this probably only works so long, especially when you have BFN after BFN....but at least I have a silver lining for this month. I'm holding onto it.)

  1. Your blog looks great! Thanks for the shout out for my BFP - you're TOTALLY getting one next week!

But I like your idea of having a silver lining... Makes things seem ok no matter what happens!
