Measures of Hope | 5 January 2011

+1. Things are really rolling now! Got email from my nurse today that confirmed the donor liaison person has been notified and they're suggesting my sister go ahead and get in for CD3 bw and us. We're moving forward!

+2. Yummy french/alsatian bistro-style lunch with a former colleague today - with a glass of wine and an espresso to finish! So European....

+3. Puppy kindergarten graduation tonight! Hoping Jessie and I will pass the "Star Puppy" test!

+4. Finally said to myself in the shower this morning: screw it if we spend $20k on one round with my sister and then $30k if we have to go on to anonymous donor eggs (I'd been fretting about whether we should just spend the $30k on anonymous instead of potentially $50k to do both a round with my sister and (if it doesn't work) the shared donor/shared risk program.) It's worth it and we have the money (I'm a known penny-pincher) and I know we're extremely lucky to be in this position.

  1. Wow - it's rolling! So exciting! You're absolutely right about #4 - I think you need to know you've tried with your sister before you move on to anonymous. This is great!

    And good luck to Jessie!!!
