Ok, ok, I know I shouldn't use Dr.Google, but I got to looking at typical betaHCG levels for 4weeksLMP and it seems that a beta HCg of 725 is rather high. Further googling reveals that a high beta HCG can indicate:
1) miscalculation of pregnancy dating: um, well, even if you assume I ovulated on CD10 (it's happened), it still seems high given charts I've seen
2) molar pregnancy: yup, this would be about just our luck
3) multiples: um, my ovaries can hardly manage to pop out one egg on a regular basis and even with stimulation can barely manage 2. I don't think 2 eggs were popped out naturally.
So, there I am, on the worry train again. Molar pregnancy looks like a very bad thing, indeed. I'm hoping that "have to wait a year to get pregnant again" doesn't count for me.
Can someone pull me off this crazy train? Ugh, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the results are today and, I guess(?), of a first ultrasound.

STAY OFF GOOGLE!!! I know, it's our first instinct. Try to take some breaths, and remember there are lots of possibilities - one of which is a very healthy baby...
ReplyDeleteDr Google is NOT your friend! I worried because mine were "low" comparted to what other people were blogging. I think the normal range is so wide that we can't really know. When do you get tested again to see if it doubles? That info will tell you a lot. You can quit worrying, I will worry for you (maybe that will keep me from worrying about me!) Keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteYes, agree, stay of the evil google. Deep calming breaths and Harry Potter books helped me through the first bit of the pregnancy 'are we' game.
ReplyDeleteHere I am!! No way it's a molar pregnancy, if that was the case your beta would be in the thousands not hundreds! Also, high beta can be perfectly normal you know? I'm not telling you to stay off google as I'd be the same! but stay positive my friend. Fran
ReplyDeleteUm, my 4 week beta was in the 2000 range. Healthy baby in my belly. I hope that reassures you!!! (Yeah, I freaked out that it was high, too).
ReplyDeleteStep away from Dr. Google!! I am so glad that Leslie posted that. If you have questions I would direct them to your RE not Dr. Google.
ReplyDeleteI know you have reason to worry given your history and how things have gone in the past. Please hang in there and take it one step at a time.
Dr. Google is evil!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's high. But given that you don't know when you ovulated, it's certainly not outside the realm of quite normal possibility. My pg that resulted in a live birth had a beta of 500+ at 15-16dpo--a healthy singleton.
ReplyDeletethinking of you... GOOD LUCK!
