Well, I'm still here in Denver. As far as anybody knows our little embryo is still in there. I won't be going into our clinic until Thursday for an ultrasound (they had wanted me to come in today). I'm very much not about tracking symptoms, but I have noticed my metallic taste has gone away but I've got sore nipples again (had that last time too).
I did have a very minor scare yesterday. I went snowshoeing with a friend in Vail (while my other friends skied. I was very bummed not to be able to ski. Yes, it's for a good reason, but still.) The pantyliner I was wearing was tinged very, very slightly pink afterwards. I was worried for about 15 minutes that it might be the start of spotting (and of course it was a slippery slope (no showshoeing pun intended) to "well, this is it, I'm losing the pregnancy"), but I pretty quickly decided it must have just been discoloration from some other source....maybe a little chafing? I know, TMI.
Anyhow, otherwise things are going well. Managed to get out for runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday (and Friday and Saturday in short sleeves and shorts in Denver!!) and the 2 hours of snowshoeing yesterday was pretty calorie-burning. Of course, I've been eating way too much at my friends' houses and out at restaurants with them. We'll see what the scale says when I get home.
We're still proceeding with the donor stuff. My sister is going to be trying to get her psychological testing scheduled this week. Then we'll have the meeting with the counselor next Tuesday. Still confirming all that. Then, really, the only other thing that needs to be done is infectious disease bloodwork for my sister. It turns out genetic testing is optional. We're still thinking about it, and if we do it, Mr.Right will have it done. Otherwise, the clinic is being surprisingly flexible. I think that's mostly because this is a known (and very well known) donor situation.
I guess we'll talk to Dr.Dry on Thursday about likely scenarios for either egg freezing or embryo freezing depending on what happens between now and week 10.
The only other thing I need to get moving on is a legal agreement between my sister and BIL and us. It feels like we really don't need it (it's not a requirement of a clinic), but we did talk about it with my sister and BIL and I should probably at least find out what a typical donor egg agreement entails. We told my sister and BIL that we would, of course, pay any lawyers' fees they might incur to have their own representation.
Anyhow, that's a short update. I have been reading some of your blogs a bit on my iPhone, but I can't figure out how to comment via the iPhone's Google Reader app! (Am stealing a few seconds on my friend's computer here.) I did see Mrs. Unexpected's nomination of me for a blogger award....my first! I promise to do my '7 Things About Me' work on the next blog entry (probably on Wednesday when I'm back home.)

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear everything is going okay. Hoping the rest of your trip is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your trip. And I think chafing is a very logical explanation.
ReplyDelete(Short sleeves and shorts in Denver?!?)
Glad to hear all is well and the scare was just a false chaffing alarm!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your getting really close on wrapping up loose ends with your sister/donor. I think alegal agreement is good even if you dont feel like you need one.
So glad to hear your trip is going well. And it definitely sounds like chafing... I'm so excited to hear about all the progress with the donor egg process - amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love how cool you sound! I'm telling you, having a back up plan makes a big big difference but I'm seriously hoping it'll all be good news for you and this little fighter!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update - I've been thinking about you. I hope you get great news this week.
