Measures of Hope | 20 December 2010

+1. More from our waking-up-in-bed-this-morning-conversation: Mr.Right actually made some statement about how he understands that we may be a little in danger of getting our hopes up about donor eggs. And he compared it to back in August of 2009, when we thought about IVF, "well, gee, we'll just do some shots, a retrieval and get a whole bunch of eggs and probably even freeze some embryos for a 2nd child." Ha!! So, this doesn't sound like a positive, but it really is. Because when he said this about donor eggs, I basically started coming up with all kinds of ideas about why it will work. It's kind of like when he is all positive all the time I feel compelled to remind him of all the bad things that can/may happen. But when he recognizes just a little bit some of the reality, I feel like I can counter with ways in which it can/will work.

+2. Nice long, 2 glass-of-wine lunch with a good friend and former colleague (actually, I hired him back when I was 27 and he was 29! Eons ago!)

+3. Found a spot in the metro parking lot at 11:15 a.m.! A miracle (ok, it's the week of Christmas and half the people who usually commute aren't there this week.)

  2. Interesting stuff with your communication with your husband. I find the same thing, when somebody is super positive I have no choice but to be negative and the other way around. Those are very scary questions that your husband is asking, I hope you can talk to you clinic about donor egg rates and get some more info on everything.
I love that you are doing this :)

  4. I'm glad you found that article helpful. I was glad to be able to share it, especially given that people who are working on kid #1 generally aren't trolling FitPregnancy.com!

  5. This is great that you two are talking so much about the egg donor thing - it's a lot to process, and I'm sure that both of you will be on both sides of the issue many times in the future!
